I think the rut is starting boys. They were grunting like crazy this morning. I've never heard that much grunting. I had one come within 50yds but he winded me and took off. I couldn't see how big was- still too many leaves.

Welcome, Thank you for posting. We're working on loot for the contest. I have a new line of cameras that are very reasonably priced and work well. Lane has been nice enough to help me test them out. Bet that didn't help your back much lifting it into the back of your truck! I've got some buddies with a sense of humor like that, bet he got a kick out of it. LOL

Hey Rich, a full 10 pointer! ,,,,, Do I win one of those new cameras? Huh? Please?

I was out this morning and, as I had posted here, we are trying to develop some trophy bucks on our property so I am not shooting anything that will not wind up on the wall. I heard a commotion coming through the woods and a very nice 6 pointer came right by my stand at full speed. Figuring that just possibly a larger buck might be chasing him, I raised my rifle and here comes this coyote. He weighed in at 47# and we guess that he was probably the one that has taken two of the farmer's new Black Angus calves over the last three weeks.

The farmer now refers to me as his Wild Hog & Coyote exterminator. It's always nice to not only be welcome, but to be encouraged, to hunt and fish on someone's large farm.

That's hilarious!!! I'm not sure about the big buck contest but I'm nominating you for the creative award when we have one! That's great, sounds to me like you have the ultimate hunting set-up. If you tell us he's paying you to hunt it will make us all sick! What's the white stuff in the truck? Not sure I've ever seen it.

Flint. Is there a coyote problem in Jersey? They are bad here in Ohio. My nephew has shot 4 or 5 this year alone.
