I intend to place my I40 on the same tree as my I60 on Thursday and will post the results some time next week if there is sufficient activity to warrant it.

The I60 works like as it is advertised and I've been very pleased with it. The I40, according to Moultrie Customer Service, is supposed to be identical except for the 4 vrs 6 mpixels and the addition of a viewer on the I60.

I have them both set up for one minute delays between pictures, 30 sec daytime video, and 15 second nighttime video.

I'll post as soon as I have a valid comparison.

First 24 hours were not good. 2 photos on the I40 and 18 on the I60. Both units are set up the same way and on the same tree. In order to be sure it is the camera, I swapped out the sd card with a known good one, resetting the internal memory first, and then formatted that card in the camera. Will check again early next week and post the results.

May be a height issues if you could find a way to place so they are side to side looking at the same target you may get a better comparison, keep us posted

I think Rich may be right with the ambient temperature theory. When its down around 70 I'm getting pics every one to three minutes or so. This is a drastic improvement over what I was getting earlier in the week. (As an aside- Notice the doe in the background licking the Buckjam I put out a month or so ago. They love the stuff) I want to keep monitoring pic frequency vs temp to see if this holds up.

I just realized this. The camera picked my son up on his quad at 80+ ft. That tree stump is a little over 50ft. The quad is considerably warmer which I'm sure helps the detector.

I think its due to the shade. It randomly toggles between B&W and color all day long. My favorite tree stand is 10 ft to the left of the camera!
