does the heat affect the camera 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
well i just checked my camera and found 339 pictures with no deer raccoons foxes nothing it started taking pictures at 3.27 pm and stopped at 1.23 am i had it on still mode with a 1 second delay some pictures are 1 or 3 or 5 minutes apart. could this be from the heat or did i have it set wrong? it is a newer model of the d100 with the lcd display

thanks

Something hot close to it or in front of it could cause it to go off. Could also be something moving in the wind in front of it.

Try moving it or repositioning it in that area.

Post one of your pics so we can see what it's doing.

you can tell when the light fades from day to night. but the pictures were like 1 or 3 or 5 minutes apart i had the camera set to 1 minute delay. copuld the wind blow trees in the background to make it move. 339 pictures i will send one in the day and one at night. reset it this afternoon and will check it tommorrow to see if it did the same thing. ill post them tommorrow thanks lane

i talked to a friend of mine down in s.c. he said it could be the cedar tree which i have the camera on. said the wind could be blowing the tree making it take the picture but 300 pictures the wind aint blowing that much here this time of year. what do you think?

Trees shouldn't set it off. I agree with repositioning it. I've had as many as a dozen Moultrie cameras set up at one time and never had any problems like that. I have blown them up and found chipmunks, birds etc.. but that doesn't sound like your experience. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Lower the camera a bit on the tree; stomp out any short weeds or brush for about 4 feet in front of your camera then lets see how you do . Good luck
