Natural Game Attraction 7 Months ago Karma: 12
What natural attraction exists in the wild where all types of game animals are attracted to that one spot?

To explain a bit, I choose a spot for my game camera that seems to keep a year round scrape on the ground. I've always noticed deer there but with the aid of my camera I've noticed that it attracts all types of game animals including this nice bobcat. I've never put out any type of food or attractant there.

Here's a photo of a bobcat traveling thru.

Your thoughts?

I would vary the trail cam set up to different spots. The woods change over the season and the deer will also change their patterns. Early fall bucks with does; fall they split up; the rut who knows where and why the bucks are; then back to winter herding patterns.

I am in good shape thru the entire season if I want a doe, it is geting the low down on the buck that really has my interest. It may even take a season or two on my properties to get a good sense of where they are especially during the rut.

I also go to Sumter Co. Alabama every year. I won't have the luxury of leaving a camera there but it wil be fun to set it up a day in advance of each hunting spot I will try out during my vacation there

If I had to guess I would say you either found a natural salt/mineral lick or one that somebody else started before you found it. I found one that the previous owners of the property started 20 years ago. It is about 8" deep and 3 foot across and the deer still are active on it.
