SD Card Issue 5 Months ago Karma: 5
When I pull out my 1 Gig SD card out of my Moultire i40 Trail Camera and put it through the PC the message pops up and states there are no pictures and the disk is damaged. Yet, if I use the same SD card in my new video camera it works fine.

Anyone have an idea on what is wrong here?

Thanks.

do you have a printer with card slots hooked to the pc? if so try using the printer to view if it works through your video camera seems like the card is not damaged

Robert,I don't have a printer on my PC. I did look at SD card with my new video camera and it says there are no images on the card. I do a quick video through my new video camera and no issues there. I am perplexed. Also, I have an issue with the i40, see separate thread on that. Thanks!

sounds like it could be in the camera itself. i had to send 2 cameras back to moultrie this week that werent working right. they said it had a bad sensor. hard to believe two at the same time. just bought the two in march.

I had a problem with a 1Gig SanDisk card on a Gamespy 200 I had. I swapped it with one of the kids MP3 player cards and all was well with both. Go figure...

Re:SD Card Issue 5 Months ago Karma: 0
On my new I40, it would take two or three movies/photos and then say that it was full.

I had definitely cleared the camera's memory before inserting the memory card but when I checked the card on my computer, the few video and photos were fine but it showed tons of space left on the card.

I then checked the camera and it had two movies in the camera's memory as well.

I called Moultrie Customer Service and found out that there are several makes of memory cards that they know will not work properly in either the I40 or I60. He said that this problem is almost certain to be a memory card problem and not a camera defect.

I have replaced the 1GB Maxflash card that came with the camera with one of the 2GB Sandisk ones I've been using successfully in my I60 and will put in back out in the woods in the morning to see if that corrects the problem.

It will be mid-week before I have any results but in the meantime, Rich, you may want to evaluate the 1GB cards you are including with the package deals. At least, verify with Moultrie that they should work.
